Luis Suarez says Liverpool contacted him and asked if he could speak to compatriot Darwin Nunez amid his first-season struggles.
Nunez arrived on Merseyside from Benfica for £85 million but had a difficult start in front of the net.
Suarez, on international duty, said leaders within the club had asked the ex-Liverpool striker to speak to his compatriot to advise him.
“He has potential, technical ability and physical strength that he demonstrates,” Suarez said (via ESPN Argentina).
