Brighton loanee Ansu Fati is determined to return to Barcelona next season and revive his career with the LaLiga giants, according to reports in Spain.

The 21-year-old burst onto the scene in the 2019/20 season, making 24 appearances and scoring seven goals.

But injuries blighted his development and saw him fall down the pecking order at Camp Nou, resulting in his season-long loan move last summer.

Fati has made a solid start to life with the Seagulls, scoring a pair of Premier League goals in his eight appearances and according to Diariosporthe is determined to take that improved form back to Catalonia.

The outlet reports that the winger remains confident of his part in Xavi’s plans in subsequent seasons, but is solely focused on securing a place in the Spanish squad for next summer’s European Championships.

Fati’s departure has given 16-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal more opportunities to play on the left and right of Barcelona’s attack

Fati has played just six games for La Roja in the last three years. He made his debut as a 17-year-old and became his country’s youngest player since 1936, when he played against Germany.

He would then add to his record list with his goal against Ukraine, which gave him the honor of becoming Spain’s youngest ever goalscorer.

Since then, the likes of Barcelona youngsters Pedri, Gavi and Lamine Yamal have followed his path-breaking path, surpassing his performances and casting doubt on his future with the Blaugrana and the national team.

After a slow start at Amex, Fati can stake a claim for inclusion in Luis de la Fuente’s squad and a return to the LaLiga giants with continued performances for Roberto De Zerbi’s side.

However, Brighton have struggled in recent weeks and have failed to win any of their last six Premier League games, with the only wins in that period coming against Ajax in the Europa League.
