Hawke’s most endearing accessory happened to be the adorable chihuahua she carried in her arms for much of the event, which was caught on camera.

After striking a number of poses with the little pup in her arms, the New York City resident also grabbed another puppy who needs a family to provide a forever home.

The Stranger Things star would also present the adorable pooch alongside longtime animal advocate Beth Stern, wife of legendary radio star Howard Stern.

The actress and model (born Beth Ostrosky), 51, stunned in a red patterned dress with spaghetti straps that she paired with a pair of gold pumps.

She also held up a bob haircut as she posed for photographers, her blonde locks flowing down her right shoulder, styled with a parting on the right side.

Stern has donated much of her time as a volunteer and animal rights activist, while maintaining special “foster rooms” in all three of her homes for cats and kittens in need of permanent homes, a project she began in 2013.

That same year, she launched a personal Instagram account, and soon after began using it primarily to facilitate animal adoptions.

Television personality and animal advocate Brian Balthazar hosted the Celebration Of Rescue event.
