British man dies after being pulled unconscious from the sea in front of his horrified partner in Cyprus

A British man has died after being pulled unconscious from the sea in the presence of his shocked partner.

According to local media reports, he was swimming in Yeroskipou, a coastal town in western Cyprus, when he suddenly felt unwell.

The man and his partner were in the sea together when he lost consciousness.

Emergency services were called and brought the British man back to shore, where they administered CPR.

He was then transported to Paphos General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
